What's been going on?

Well... it seems daddy has been slacking off again on the blog, eh?
Tired of looking at Nathan's bum (from the potty blog) when you check to see what's new?
I'll blame it on March Madness... it actually has been significantly busier in the Waller household now that there are 2 mobile and needless to say, mischievous boys getting around.

Here's a bit of what's been happening...

Easter 2009 was a good time. Joshua loved all of the eggs and Nathan got a hold of some chocolate very early on Sunday morning. When I say "got a hold of" I mean it was given to him by Mommy... hmmm... 3 year old... chocolate before 9AM... a wonderful combination. It was also a time for Joshua and Nathan to sport the "sweet" suits that Grandma Waller got them for the occasion.

Nathan's 3rd birthday was April 26th and we decided it was time to cut down on some of the mowing Daddy has to do, by getting a swing set to take up some of the yard. With the help of all the grandparents (great ones included) we purchased a nice little number and had it delivered in two not so little boxes. Daddy, with Grandpa Waller's assistance spent almost an entire Saturday in the freezing rain assembling until they couldn't feel their fingers anymore (the things you do for love...)

Nathan's party was a good time. He had a Curious George birthday cake and decorations, highlighted by those party blower things... Nathan went through about 5 of those. He got a whole lotta gifts like a fireman's outfit and huge metal TONKA dump truck like I had when I was a kid. It's big enough that you can ride on the thing if your feeling adventurous... hint, hint Nathan.

The family was all here... the Lynn parents, the Peabody parents, the Connecticut crew, the Dudley bunch, even Nicole and Taylor Michelle too. Grandpa Hagadorn made the trip from Michigan for the weekend as well, so it was a full house. The weather was great that day even though there was about a 20 degree drop in the late afternoon.

Joshua had his dedication at church on the morning of Nathan's birthday. He showed no signs of stage fright and was all smiles at the front of the church. Like with Nathan, this was a special time for Mommy and Daddy to recommit themselves and newly commit Joshua to following the Lord.

Joshua has been all over the place lately... crawling, cruising, climbing... however he can move. Cheerios and puffs are a high chair favorite. He's got four little front choppers now 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom. He loves playing with Nathan and chases him around as much as he can with his limited mobility. Nathan often asks,"Does Joshua want to play with me?" We'll see how long that lasts when Joshua can walk and is hot on his heels. Now that Joshua can get around enough to select the toys he wants, Nathan has gotten protective of his old toys and there is a lot of "mine" going on followed by a quick snatch... guaranteed Joshua won't stand for that nonsense much longer and will start standing up for himself. All in all, they have a lot of fun together and Nathan is a great big brother... it's fun to see the relationship grow between the two.

Joshua had his 9 month doctor's appointment at the beginning of May and for those keeping stats on Nathan and Joshua:
Joshua is 17lbs. (5th percentile)
28 inches (40th percentile)
17 3/4 head (50th percentile)
Nathan was 18lbs. 12oz. (20th percentile)
29 1/2 inches (80th percentile)
?? head (but it was 80th percentile... big ol' head like Daddy)

I'll leave you with a little glimpse of what could happen if you turn your back on our beloved 3 year old with something as seemingly harmless as a cupcake for a split second too long...

"Daaaaady... Look what I do daddy!"
