After weeks of preparation, the day finally came for Nathan and 10 of his buddies in CSB to race the cars that they had been crafting and detailing. The shape and race derby was held in Lexington at Grace Chapel. We arrived and 8am and didn't leave until after noon. Nathan's car did OK. He didn't win any awards or trophies, but it was fun to watch his car fly down the track and a number of the kids in our group from West Church did get trophies and some nice awards.
The plan now is Nathan to go back to the drawing board with daddy to craft another car even though it may not be competing. Nathan says that is something he's always wanted to do with me.
So it shall be.
