Leaf Peepin' With the Peeps

Monday was Columbus Day and Julie has always been big on "leaf peeping" in the fall, so we decided that it would be fun to take a trip down one of the prime peeping roads in the area... route 127.

The route runs about 24 miles round trip from Beverly to Gloucester along Cape Ann, for the most part lined with trees on one side and the ocean on the other, which Nathan wanted to "go in" even though we told him it was much too cold.

The drive was nice and there were plenty of trees dressed in their fall colors. On the way back we stopped at Stage Fort Park in Gloucester and had lunch. The breeze coming off of the water was a little chilly, but it was still quite nice to sit and look at the water and trees in the park. I did notice however that suddenly Nathan wasn't so eager to get in the water anymore.

Nathan was more than happy to indulge in one of Mommy's gourmet PB&J sandwiches accompanied by a side of chips and juice.

After we ate, Nathan and I went for a brief "explore" as Pooh would say, on the rocks by the water and then ran around for a bit. Along the way he discovered some dandelions that were seeding and quickly got to work blowing "parishoot" seeds all over the place.

Once we settled back into the car it wasn't too long before both of the wee ones were asleep. Even after we pulled up to the house and unloaded the car, they hadn't moved. Good driving. Good nature. Good night.
