Joshua has been asking all winter to build what he refers to as an igloo.
Last year we had so much snow that we were in fact able to create an igloo that the boys and even I could fit into, by just hollowing out the mountain the snow blower made in the backyard. That snowsome sensation was fully equipped with a luge slide and stairs that took them to the top!!! Epic stuff. Not so much this year.
This year there have been maybe 3 snowfalls over an inch or two and the snow has been light and fluffy... not good for building (at least nothing up to code)... until now. We went out in the wet snow and got thoroughly soaked, just so that we could log some building this year. The easiest thing to do was form blocks since there was only about 2.5 inches of the white stuff, so out came the tupperware and the rest is backyard history.
It got too cold because of the rain (and the less than blistering pace of our first time snow masons) to complete the project, but it was fun to get the walls started. Maybe it will snow again and we can finish the job... maybe...
